Ultimate Guide for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

You have all the idea's and thoughts to new innovative ways to make money online, but you're not sure where to start. This is a common challenge, and addresses the need of a guide for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Like other aspiring entrepreneurs, you probably have a notebook full of inspiring quotes, a list of business books you'd like to read, and YouTube playlist of successful influencers that are teaching you their methods of growing their business.

It can be challenging to find the right YouTuber to follow because usually, they all talk about the same thing. Other times, they contradict each other. For this reason, it is not the best idea to follow too many online entrepreneurs.

Follow the Right Leader

So, how do you find the right person or persons to follow? If you are a true beginner, you should focus on setting a budget and exercise discipline in keeping it. To do this, you will have to find free or inexpensive ways to start and grow your business, but even before doing this, you should identify which type of business you want to start.

E-businesses are the easiest to organize, especially if you are starting from scratch. There are still a lot of online options to choose from; such as affiliate marketing, eCommerce, and online freelance services. Let's take a look at what is involved in choosing one of these for your online business.

Affiliate Marketing Guide for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
What is affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing [also known as content marketing and digital marketing] is when you build a website and promote products or services that belong to other companies. This type of marketing is a good starting point for a businessperson whose goal is to be as cost effective as possible.

However, there are a few things to consider when choosing this. The first thing to understand is that this type of organization takes time to earn a consistent income. One reason is because Google has to trust your site, which happens over time. Usually ten percent per month as long as you are doing the required work on your website.

Affiliate Marketing- What's Involved

When you are new to this, you'll have to take time to become familiar with the different aspects that are involved in building a website; such as, hosting, domains, niches, writing content, traffic, SEO and keywords. Learning this can take some time, and if you are relying on the internet to gather information, it may take longer based on the amount of data that is available online.

Finding a course that is beginner friendly is the best decision because the lessons are likely to be organized and orderly. There are several options out there, but the one I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. Wealthy Affiliate is where I gained my knowledge in the digital marketing industry. I looked at other programs like Authority Hacker, and Create and Go.  Wealthy Affiliate is an excellent guide for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Now, I was very close to joining Authority Hacker. I think they are very legit, but they did not align with my goal of keeping my cos low. Always keep your cost at the forefront of your goals because you will see that you will have to pay for some tools to help streamline your business.

Beware of the Free Trial Offer

Also, beware of catchy seven and fourteen day trial periods. When you are just starting, everything is new; therefore, the time it takes to become acquainted with the "how-to's" and watching tutorials will likely be the duration of the trial period.

This is a rookie mistake, and before you know it, you will be charged a couple hundred dollars to use a software program that you don't even understand yet.

caution for entrepreneurs

Another thing I've learned to beware of is purchasing courses that do not incorporate step-by-step lessons from the beginning. The problem with some classes is that they do not address the needs of the genuinely new and aspiring entrepreneur. The biggest hint to this is when they say "assuming you already have your WordPress theme installed," with the keyword being "assuming."

Many successful entrepreneurs forget what it is like to start from the beginning of their venture or perhaps digital marketing is something they studied in college. In either case, they start off with an assumption that you are further along in the process than what you really are.

Why Wealthy Affiliate

1. More positive reviews and easy navigation.
Wealthy Affiliate is an online platform; much like a social media platform, that provides training for anyone that wants to learn affiliate marketing. I have read some negative reviews of them, but the positive comments far outweigh the negative ones. It really depends on what your goals are and the level of knowledge you have.

2. Current activity amongst members and owners.
Wealthy Affiliate is an active community, meaning the other members, both the free plan and premium plan, are actively involved in leaving comments, asking questions, sharing experiences, and contributing to training modules. The owners are also active and engaged in this network.

3. Step-by-step training tutorials.
This is an essential key feature of Wealthy Affiliate. The founder walks you through the process as if you are learning a new language. The complete process, guidelines, and industry terminologies are organized, and presented as simple video lessons.

In addition to the training, tutorials are live webinars that are available for the paid premium memberships. These webinars take you beyond the basic of building a website and add compounded value to your knowledge and experience.

4. Two free websites.
Two free websites come with the $0/monthly plan. Don't mistake this for a free trial! How many of you would much rather, test your learning curve with a risk-free domain that includes website hosting?

5. Keyword research tool.
I'll dive into keyword research a little bit later, but for now, I'd like to emphasize the importance of having this particular feature as part of your membership at Wealthy Affiliate. The search tool is called Jaaxy. Jaaxy's integration with Wealthy Affiliate's learning platform is a convenient bonus feature.

The Starter Plan

The Starter plan gives you an introduction to some of the features; however, the full power of this tool is limited while on the $0/ Starter membership. The starter plan allows 30 monthly searches, but this is bumped up to unlimited number of searches on the Premium membership.

The image below does not display the Lite plan. Wealthy Affiliate's Premium Plan automatically integrates the Lite plan.
